Switching To Green Investments

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

It used to be that focusing on
Green Investments meant getting subpar returns. I think that time has passed. Nowadays, Green stocks are hot, and I think that a world-wide boom in sustainable enterprise is just beginning.
I’m especially interested in Green Mutual Funds. The tide appears finally to be turning in the markets, and not a moment too soon.
I see green investing as one more way to use my own economic power to help to shift things in a better direction. Every little bit helps.

Thoughts On Sustainable Investing

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

I’ve been checking out the possibilities of
Sustainable Investing more and more these days, and I am excited about them. I think it’s finally possible to put together a portfolio that’s good for your soul as well as the bottom line.
I’m most looking forward to learning more about Green ETF Investing. I think the potential is there to finally make some significant changes in the way business is done. And not a moment too soon.
Don’t just vote with your wallet, vote with your portfolio. Let’s keep our capital in the hands of those who will put it to the best use.
What do you think?

I really need to learn more about Loan Amortization Calculators.
I’m considering a 15-year mortgage, but I need to figure out what the payments will be.

Hopefully I’ll get the figures right and make the right decision for this loan.

Qualifying for tax credit

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Taxpayers are eligible to receive $300 per child who qualifies for the child tax credit, where taxpayers who already filed a return do not need to do anything else. If you filed a return but reported less than $3,000 in income, you may need to file an amended return to be sure your qualifying Social Security or veterans benefits. Taxpayers who wish to find out if they are due a refund from their last annual tax return filing may use the “Where’s My Refund?” option on the only official IRS Web site.

My Personal Experience With Internet Savings Accounts

Friday, September 12th, 2008

You know, I’m sick and tired of getting a lousy rate on my savings. I’ve decided to check out online savings accounts. It’s plain to me that most of the options there are a much better deal than I’ve been getting. I’m particularly fed up with earning .5% interest for the privilege of lending my money to the bank. Enough is enough. Especially in light of the sorts of rates the same banks charge you when they lend you money. I’ve been checking out ing direct. They’re a pretty good deal. Low fees, good rates, good access. And I can use any bank’s ATM. Frankly, I couldn’t care less about meeting a banker in person. I’d much rather do my banking online with a click or two than wait in line at the branch. You might want to look into the benefits of online banking yourself. More on this soon.

Searching For Info On Canada Forex

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

I’ve been curious lately about Canada Forex.
The Canadian Dollar looks like a good trade to be in these days, given its recent meteoric rise.
I’ve been poking around the Canadian Web looking for sites on Forex Trading Canada. I’ve found some decent info.
I’ve been trading forex in other currencies for a while, so working with Canadian dollars should be easy enough.

Talking About No Cosigner Student Loans

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

I was talking to a friend yesterday about No Cosigner Student Loans.
I’d rather not have to ask Dad to co-sign on my loans. I just don’t want to deal with it.
I’ve been reading up on Deferred No-cosigner No Credit Check Student Loans, and getting more and more worried. How will I ever pay those loans back?
I can’t even fathom paying back that much debt, but it’s best not to worry about it too much.
Stay tuned.

Don’t Withdraw! Have A Look At 401k Rollover Options

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Always remember that your savings are growing tax deferred and being compounded at an exponential rate. So it is sensible to look at 401k rollover options rather than withdraw all the funds. You may first withdraw and then deposit within 60 days as mentioned above. Or you may request your previous employer to do a direct transfer. Either way you do not lose much.See ira penalty for more information.

Good Business - Rare Coins

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Coin collecting is good business. Investors understand this and many purchase portfolios with coin distributors because they know that rare coins are only going to appreciate in value, not depreciate. However, how much do rare coins sell for? The answer to that is not an easy one. There are coins that sell for a half a million dollars, while others, even though rare, are not in good shape and a collector can pick up a coin like that for ten dollars. Regardless of your reason for collecting coins, keeping a collection for a good long while will ensure that eventually those coins are going to have some value (hopefully more than its original worth).

Thinking About Medical Student Loans

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

I’ve been looking into
Medical Student Loans, and man is it scary. I can’t even conceive of putting together that much money.
Poking around on the net researching Medical Residency Loans has lost me more than one nights’ sleep, to be sure. The prospect of spending most of my life in debt is depressing.
Even on a doctor’s salary, it’s hard to imagine paying off that level of debt load.
I’ll be looking forward to your comments.

Where Should I Get My Mortgage?

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

I am planning to buy a new house. I know I can’t afford to pay for the whole thing out of pocket since I don’t really have any savings, so I will need to get a mortgage. However, I am not sure where I should go to get my mortgage. Should I go to the credit union, my local bank, an internet site, or a mortgage broker? How can I get the best rate for my mortgage? Which companies are the best for mortgage services? I really don’t know that much about mortgages and need to find out more in order to make an informed decision.

My Experiences With SEP IRA Plans

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

My company is offering
SEP IRA Plans as its primary retirement benefit. I’m thinking that signing up is a good idea, but I don’t know how the whole process works.
In particular, I need to know more about Sep Accounts. There’s some decent stuff on the net about it, but it’s hard to stay focused on it. This stuff is just so dry and dull.
It will be good to get some tax savings out of the deal at least. There are few enough ways to get ahead of the ever-growing tax monster these days.
Alright - that’s all for now.

Thoughts On Online Savings Accounts

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

I’m firing Citibank. They just aren’t a great deal anymore for my money. I’m looking at Washington Mutual instead, and some of the other online savings accounts as well. Much better deals to be had. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that you are lending your money to the bank with these accounts, and they ought to be paying you. It’s not like you get to charge the bank fees when they loan you money, after all. Specifically, Capital One Bank Online is a great deal. They pay good rates, and don’t charge all of those hidden fees that the big boys are always hitting you with. Who cares if the big banks have more ATMs when they will refund your ATM fees from any other Bank? Now I can use any ATM in town. You might want to look into the benefits of online banking yourself.
