Friday, January 4th, 2008The problem with Phishing Prevention is that many people still do not know what phishing is. Phishing is a scam where people send emails and make you visit their spoofed versions of legitimate sites, where you are asked to provide some of your information for confirmation purposes. For example, you might be a member of a particular site. Phishers will send you an email regarding an offer or something with a link that will take you to a website that will exactly resemble the true site. Here they will ask you some information like your credit card number or social security number for confirmation. You will give, since you do not suspect anything. And then you will become a victim of phishing.
