Fuel And Mileage Go Hand In Hand

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

We can define the distance travelled according to the performance of your vehicle, how you drive it and the amount of fuel your car or truck uses on that journey. Put all those things into an equation and the distance covered vs the fuel your vehicle has used is the gas milage achieved. As the prices of gas have risen a lot of late, drivers are really starting to pay attention to ways to improve and increase gas mileage, therefore saving some money without compromising on how much the vehicle itself can be used. Unfortunately the prices have risen so much now that people are starting to not take unnecessary journeys in their cars or are looking for more fuel efficient autos such as hybrids or diesel alternatives.

Lemon Laws

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

So I think I’ve been ripped off, and I’m going to have to look into the local lemon laws. Seriously, I’m sick and tired of businesses trying to break it off in their customers, and I’m not putting up with it any more.
All the New Jersey Lemon Laws are on my side, here. This dealer doesn’t have a leg to stand on. I’m going to eat him for breakfast in court, and he’ll have no one but himself to blame.
Gone are the days when you could take a man at his word in business. It’s a shame that I’m forced to sue - it would cost this guy less to do the right thing, but I guess he’s hoping I’ll give up. Keep dreaming, buddy.

Kids and Car Insurance

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

If you are the father of teenage sons who have cars and motorcycles, make sure you get them to take out car accident insurance. Otherwise, you are in for major trouble. Experience has made me realize this. I have never ever taken any kind of insurance, especially vehicle insurance in my lifetime. This is because of the fact that I am proud of being a very steady and careful driver.

Contrary to my expectations, my sons turned out to be rash daredevils, understandably so as they are teenagers. I followed the same rules and did not bother to take any insurance for them. After three accidents and a lot of expenditure towards repair, I now have three vehicle insurances, one for each one of us.

Garmin GPS systems for cars

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I have been doing some investigation into car GPS units. I have to get a new one to assist me with some business trips that are coming up. I spend a lot of time on the road and don’t enjoy ploughing through maps trying to work out the best route to take. The Garmin street pilot GPS system has been getting favorable reviews on the internet. For a few hundred dollars I can get this device and mount it to my dash.

Considerations when purchasing a forklift

Friday, January 4th, 2008

When considering a forklift for sale outside of forklift companies, here are some additional factors to consider:

Check the hour meter yourself – it's easy to round down the usage numbers. If the lift has been parked for a while, check underneath for oil leaks. Never buy a lift without putting it through all the basic operations: check every forward and reverse gear, the lifting capacity, brakes, and hydraulics including sideshift or extensions. Inspect hoses and cables for signs of wear, and the frame for rust or cracks. Be especially cautious if you find small patches of new paint that could be covering up a significant problem. Watch out for high-pressure sales pitches: the harder they try to sell, the more suspicious you should be. For more information visit forklifts and pallets

I got my son a John Deere backhoe for Christmas.

Friday, January 4th, 2008

I got my son a john deere backhoe for Christmas. No, I didn't buy him a real backhoe. He is only six years old. I bought him a toy backhoe. He loves John Deere equipment, ever since we went to visit my sister and her husband, who live on a farm. He already had all of the John Deere farm toys, like the tractor, so I bought the backhoe when I saw that it was available.
