Defendants in Malpractice
Certain professions are likely to be defendants in malpractice cases and to need the services of a malpractice defense lawyer. Doctors and other medical professionals, accountants, dentists and, ironically enough, lawyers themselves are often taken to court and sued for malpractice.
What a malpractice defense lawyer will do is attempt to prove that you aren’t liable, or at least that you’re not liable to the extent the plaintiff claims. A malpractice defense lawyer will argue in court that you did not breach your professional duty but did everything that you had to.
And in most cases, this is probably the case.
